Cork is at the heart of our ecological commitments

21 July 2021

For more than 10 years, Diam Bouchage has been involved alongside forestry professionals to protect, revitalize and enhance the cork industry around the Mediterranean. Beyond the environment, these actions bring together many local players and respond to our responsible business challenges.

Diam Bouchage manufactures and sells corks. As the partner of the wine industry since the beginning of times, cork is at the heart of our expertise and our ecological commitments!
Responsible purchasing, local economy, carbon footprint, preserving resources, etc...

Cork-oak forests are true carbon sinks and biodiversity champions!
This tree can resist forest fires and preserves natural habitats.
Trees are not cut down at harvest and the bark regenerates, absorbing CO2 after each harvest, which then remains stuck for decades.

Diam Bouchage works with cork growers to protect, revitalise and valorize this ecosystem.
We have been working alongside local Associations to replant new plots of land, clean up abandoned “suberaies”, finance the necessary equipment to exploit the forest and train harvest crew.

What is most important?
Ensure that harvested cork is marketed in a viable and positive way!
By purchasing the raw cork material at a fair price Diam Bouchage contributes to the long-term preservation of the cork industry.

Our manufacturing process is part of Diam environmental approach which engages the company to reduce energy consumption and wastes. We manufacture billions of high quality corks each year, recognised and acclaimed by winemakers from all over the world.

Thanks to their trust, we can continue to increase our investments in forests and work to preserve our planet.
