DIAM Summer Tour Edition 2023

31 August 2023

From 8 to 10 June, we once again partnered the Bacchus Festival  in Argelès-sur-Mer. The Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins du Roussillon  once again drew lots for around twenty winemakers, who were able to present their vintages to the general public over the 3 days of this festival celebrating wine, gastronomy and music. As for the first edition, a call for samples was also made to reward, thanks to a jury of professionals: a white wine, a red wine, a rosé wine and a natural sweet wine. The awards ceremony took place on Saturday evening between two concerts. Laura Gaïsset, sales manager for the zone, took the opportunity to present the prize for the best white wine: won by Maison Albera for its 100% Vermentino, another Diam customer this year.

On 10 June, during the "Entre-deux mers en fête" event in Arcachon, Rossana Lucero (Area Manager) was on hand to set up a corking defects stand to raise public awareness of the issues involved in choosing the right cork.

The second edition of our karting competition took place on 15 June. After the Castelet circuit, the Grand Circuit du Roussillon in Rivesaltes welcomed us this year. In glorious sunshine, around forty customers from all over the Mediterranean region turned out for this friendly, fun-filled competition.

The following day, 16 June, our historic Bordeaux golf tournament moved to the Mont-de-Marsan golf course in the Landes region of France. It was a beautiful golf course for a great competition and a great time of sharing, rounded off of course by a lunch accompanied by Diam corked wines and a prize-giving ceremony eagerly awaited by our golfers!

A few days later, on 19 June, another Paulée d’Anjou  was held in Angers, starting at 10am. Lectures and debates on the great vintages of Anjou delighted the participants, as did our Diam corking defects stand, manned by Vincent Guidel (area manager) and the staff of our distributor LVVD throughout the day. The day ended with a crémant d'Anjou aperitif hosted by Diam, followed by a gala dinner at the Grenier Saint-Jean, prepared by 3 chefs from Anjou: Pascal Favre d'Anne, David Guitton and Mickaël Pihours.

This (very) busy month of June continued with the Prés Salés festival in Alsace and a BBQ with our customers in the Jura at our distributor Voisin. And something new this year to round off the first month of summer: a pétanque tournament organised for our Bordeaux customers on the Right Bank! It was a great way to get together, and the customers have already made plans for next year!

July got off to a flying start with a number of festivals, including the famous 'Déferlantes ', which were relocated to Le Barcarès for this year's event. To sum up these 2 very busy months: a golf tournament at our distributor Lauvige  in Provence, an evening at the Colmar Wine Fair on the stand of our distributor Ampelys, the Bordeaux oenologists' promotion baptism, events in our distributors' shops, etc.

Our export teams and distributors were not left out either, with numerous events organised during the summer period: technical events in Spain, the annual dinner of the Veneto oenologists and an evening with young Valpolicella Amarone producers in Italy, conferences and trade fairs in the USA, tastings and training courses in Latin America, technical evenings in Armenia and Montenegro...

Numerous factory visits punctuated the summer season, as they do every year: this summer more than 150 people came to visit our production site in Céret, in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
